Moving over my blog to my website, monamation.com. Blogger's been great, but the spammers haven't been. I'll still have this up for a while though!

Vanilla Skates
Did a little logo animation for Vanilla Skates recently, with like a few hours turnaround. I love getting quick little projects like this; keep me on my toes! It was my first time using certain simple lighting effects in After Effects, though I think the colored version was a lot cooler (they wanted a greyscale one instead). Here is the Vanilla Skates 2014 promo video :)

Hitting the Slopes
Friend Drake is heading home to Colorado and skiing! |
My friend Drake is heading home to Colorado soon, with her new skis! This is a doodle I did with her at our favorite cafe in my area, KC's Crepes Cafe, where they provide a little notebook for doodling! I took a photo of it and colored it in quickly in Photoshop when I got home. We used to go to that cafe all the time in high school, and still enjoy grabbing boba drinks and crepes when she's in town. Basically, I need to visit her soon and take advantage of the Colorado snow (because California is not having much at all this season!)

First Doodle
First doodle of 2014 |
Happy New Year! My first doodle of 2014. Obviously terrible and disproportionate but it was the first thing I drew and I wanted to post it regardless of how it turned out. Drew it on the back of a receipt at the breakfast place my boyfriend, best friend, and I went to this morning after a fun night out. We even took a photo trying to copy the doodle I did yesterday! I think the photo is better than the doodle for sure!

Excited to see what 2014 has in store!

NYE 2014
More girls = VIP access, amiright? |
Right? Happy New Year's Eve! My best friend and boyfriend are heading down to San Diego in a quick minute for the Hard Rock Hotel event downtown. Woo! It's going to be the first time I've ever done something big for New Year's, and I'm super stoked. Not sure if I'm more excited for the event or for the fact that we don't have to get a cab or drive back to our hotel after... buuttt my boyfriend might have to help carry me if my feet are dead after dancing! Hope everyone has a SAFE and fun night!

Christmas Cookbook
So for Christmas I got a few things for my boyfriend: new shoes, funky socks, a mug that looks like a camera lens... and I also made him a little cookbook! He plans on moving out on his own for the first time in a couple months, and he doesn't know the first thing about cooking. So I gave him some basic tips on how to prepare foods, clean his kitchen, and some easy little recipes. He loved it, especially cause I did all the drawings myself! :)
It was only like 20 pages but I worked for a good month on it. I put it together and printed it with Blurb, which was very simple and professional and I highly recommend it. They even let others see a preview of the book! Here it is in case you are interested: http://www.blurb.com/books/4944088-cooking-basics
Here are some of the little drawings I did to go along with the book:
Intro: This is a Kitchen |
Sweets |
Starches (Breads, pasta, rice, and potatoes) |
Spices, Herbs, Wet and Dry Goods |
I gave him lists of alll the basics, from flour to dill weed (we're Polish and use that on everything)
Cookware and cleaning supplies |

Polish Center Logo
Working on a new website for the Polish Center in LA. Updated the logo from something I made years ago (cringe) when I had no Illustrator experience to something a bit more modern. The graphic design thing isn't really what I think I am good at, but I need to work on it more to integrate it into my motion graphics work.
