Did these roughs a while back for a gig. Based off of a super awesome idea for a webseries about a time traveling hedgehog from the enlightenment era who meets a modern day gerbil/hamster. It was really fun sketching out the characters, as the writer had some awesome descriptions and character development. Unfortunately the finals were not the best, as I only had a week to bust this out haha. Anyways, here is Baxter, Chew, and Orchid (the last being an evil squirrel, who is clearly in now way inspired by Stephen Silver)

LA Drawing Club 2 + Finally have Internet
So here are a few of my drawings from an LA Drawing Club session a while back, maybe a month ago, with a Bladerunner theme. I finally ordered internet at my grandmother's house, now that I got a new job that will last a while! Since I last posted, I got a position as a Flash animation assistant working on some e-courses for a marketing company. It's not really so much animation as it is moving illustrations, but I am just happy to be drawing for a living (at least for a little while)!
Anyways, that position made me decide to actually get internet here, now that I will be here for quite a while longer than the initial 3 months I was planning on. Yay! Ok, well, Dancing with the Stars is on now, and I always watch with my grandma, but I will definitely post a bunch of drawings from the past few weeks now that I have internet access. :)

Some Viking
Drawing some viking guy... I need to draw more. Scratch that, I need to take more time to scan what I draw, but I can only use my parents' scanner, which sucks, instead of mine. Well, yeah. P.S. if I was to finish, he would be holding a guitar, not an ax.

Love Dads
I love my dad, and this little girl loves hers, too! Even though it is no where near Father's Day. Every day I think of what a great person my dad is, and how much he's done for me and my sisters and brother. I'm really blessed to have him in my life! :) </super cheesy>

First Doodle of the Year!
I think this year will be tough, but also fun and enlightening and full of new experiences! I'm ready to jump into the real world.

Last Class Doodles Ever!
Some dumb doodles from this past semester's Art History class. Last class doodles ever! Pretty crazy! Most of them are, of course, of my cat, Zelda (but we call her Baby). I guess this might count as my New Years post? Happy New Year everyone!

Boy with Baseball
It was a lovely few days in Mammoth. The snow was non-existent, so the skiing wasn't too great, but it was nice to get away from LA and hang with my little sisters for a bit. Ah, bonding. I didn't do much sketching up there, sadly, but here is a colored drawing of a sketch from one of my school notebooks. I realize that the notebook sketches from this past semester may very well be my last, unless I purchase a notebook solely for sketching. Weird! I hope everyone is having fun gearing up for New Years!

Mammoth Owl
Heading off to Mammoth with the family for a few days. Here is a goodbye owl, made while my mom was taking her time to pack this morning.

Merry Christmas!
Further decorated my Christmas bags for my family and friends. It was a great Christmas this year, same routine as every year, though somehow it felt like the end of something. A lot was different, with a couple babies and a few lost loved ones. I think it may mark the arrival of new traditions next year. Maybe Christmas will be at another house next year? I will have to wait and see! Hope everyone's holiday was fantastic as well. On another note, I got a pajama set with a matching dog hat (I know, I'd be jealous too). Happy Holidays to everyone! :)

CTN Model Drawings
Some model drawings done at CTN a few weeks ago. I haven't been able to do any since last May, so it was really nice to do figure sketches, even if it was only for a few minutes :) It was a couple, though I didn't do any good ones of the male, and they were dressed in 40s era clothing. Mobsters and guns kinda thing. They did some super fun poses! I hope they do it again next year.

First Colored Scene!
First colored frame of my first completed scene!! I feel like I've passed a milestone for my film and I'll soon be able to bust out these puppies super quickly, though let's be honest... um, no. It's not completely done, though. I still need to work out how to animate the leaves. I've done some tests but they aren't quite working out yet. I'm mainly focusing on my Mongol sequence, so hopefully I'll be able to post some new tests from that soon, once they stop looking so crappy :\

Starting to Scan Movie Scenes!
My first scanned frame for my first cleaned scene! Excitiiiiiing! My friend Robbie helped in between some frames and now it's all ready for ToonBoom! I hope to have time tomorrow to color the scene completely before my meeting with my professor.

More character designs and colors
A temporary lineup of characters (they are not all completed designs yet), and some colored bugle designs.
More designs of other characters. I posted some of these previously.
Some poses of Bolek.

Also, I have a title for my project! A Polish phrase, Mały trębacz, which translates to The Little Trumpeteer.

Taking a Walk
Finally decided on a name for my character! Bolek, short for Boleslaw, a Polish name meaning "great glory." Also my father's middle name! Here he is in a walking pose, drawn for the poster advertising our end of the year animation screening on Friday the 20th. Super excited!

Character Development
Current design for my main character, whose name as of now is Bolus, but everything is subject to change!
Development and color ideas for two secondary characters, the Old Man and the Goat Herder, along with one of his goats, Billy. Not set in stone yet, either!

Wycinanki Influenced Characters
Character concepts based off of a method of Polish paper cutting called Wycinanki. Style often includes a symmetric design, bright colors, and a mixture of organic shapes and harsh points. Wycinanki are often influenced by flowers, plants, and birds.
